Hawk-I Healthy Kids in Iowa  1-800-257-8563 (TDD 1-888-422-2319) No-cost or low-cost health care coverage for children under 19 years of age.  Application required.  Children must be uninsured, ineligible for Medicaid, Iowa residents, and United States citizens or lawfully admitted resident aliens.  Family must also meet income guidelines.  Covers the following services: doctor visits, in- and out-patient hospital care, prescription drugs, speech therapy, hearing services, chiropractic care, well-child visits, vaccines/shots, emergencies, surgery, dental care, vision services, mental health, and substance abuse care.  www.hawk-i.org

Story County Medical Center  (515) 382-2111, 630-6th Street, Nevada.  Free Care Program provides necessary medical care to Story County residents who meet income eligibility guidelines and either do not have adequate insurance coverage available to them or who are Medicare insured, but are unable to pay deductibles and co-payments.  Covers services at the Medical Center and its clinics located in Maxwell, Nevada, and Zearing.  Program does not cover out-patient prescription medications, nor any of the physician specialty services provided within the Medical Center or at other locations. 

 

Story County Community Dental Clinic: (515) 956-4595, 126 South Kellogg, Suite 1.   All ages are eligible and must also be Story County residents.  Must have NO private dental insurance.  Must bring proof of income and residency to first appointment.  This is NOT a “free” clinic.  There is a co-pay each visit.  Beyond the co-pay, clients may have to pay the sliding fee scale rate for services performed, based on their household income.  Both emergency and appointment times are available.  Call for more information.

Description: The Akwaaba Free Medical Clinic at The International Central Gospel Church in Worcester offers free medical care to all. The clinic is a project of the Akwaaba Health Initiative, and is staffed by volunteer doctors, nurses, and medical students from the UMass Medical School. One of the main goals of the clinic is to improve access to health care for Worcester's African immigrants and residents of the Vernon Hill neighborhood.

Services:

  • Services include checkups • prescription drugs • HIV testing • and diabetes, cholesterol, and blood pressure screenings. The clinic also helps patients enroll in free or low-cost health insurance plans and gives referrals for other services.

  • Hours are Thursday evenings, from 6 PM to 8 PM. This is a walk-in clinic. You do not need an appointment.

  • Undocumented noncitizens are welcome. You do not have to give any identification and no one will ask about your immigration status.

More than 160 physicians and dentists volunteer more than 17,100 hours of their time and professional expertise each year to make basic health care available to these families.

Dentists, dental hygienists, dental technicians, doctors, nurses, physician assistants, medical assistants, lab technicians, pharmacists, interpreters and clerical personnel all donate of their valuable time to make the clinic a success.

In the Dental Clinic, we provide comprehensive children's treatment plans that teach oral hygiene skills to children who may never have visited a dentist. Aided by the generosity of local hospitals, pharmacies, laboratories and other agencies, the medical clinic is able to provide services ranging from the treatment of acute illnesses to chronic diseases such as diabetes.

In the Dental Clinic, we provide comprehensive children's treatment plans that teach oral hygiene skills to children who may never have visited a dentist. Dental services, from teeth cleanings to denture fittings, are available to all who qualify.

Welcome Baby Program of Utah County

Ypsilanti, Michigan Hope Free Medical Clinic

Hope Medical Clinic provides free* primary care for patients without insurance or the ability to pay for health care. Many patients meet financial qualifications to receive free lab and radiology tests through the St. Joseph Mercy Health System, and many receive free services from our network of more than 60 volunteer specialists who accept referrals for free specialty care. Donors and pharmaceutical firms provide free medications for many patients. Nearly 110 volunteer doctors, physician assistants, nurse practitioners & nurses donate their time. We offer scheduled appointments as well as 2 weekly walk-in clinics.
 
* We ask for a $5 donation as patients are able.

  • More than 7000 patient visits are provided yearly.
  • Patients seen at the clinic receive medically necessary prescriptions. The equivalent
    of $2,362,972 worth of prescription medications were accessed for Hope Clinic patients in 2009.
  • 500 patients received specialty care in 2009 from our network of specialists.
  • Hope receives more than 17,000 hours of donated professional time each year.

Services NOT available at Hope Clinic:

  • NO immunizations, TB tests, STD tests, or pregnancy tests (see your county Health Dept.)
  • NO prescriptions for controlled medications or birth control
  • NO Treatments for erectile dysfunction or fertility.
